How can early stage investors build public-private partnerships that last? How can entrepreneurship help to protect the world’s oceans?
These were just two issues addressed at the winter summit of the European Trade Association for Business Angels (EBAN), which took place on October 22-23, 2018. The sector invests an estimated 7.5 billion euros every year, which affords it a huge impact in the European economy, particularly the SME segment. The event, which was held at the sprawling BGL BNP Paribas complex in Kirchberg, aimed to highlight ‘the most impactful best practices’ while gathering ‘a community highly committed to investing in European start-ups’. More than 500 attendees benefitted from 20 workshops and master classes while gaining insight from 50 speakers who are among the most successful entrepreneurs and investors in Europe. The event included a gala dinner at the Neumünster Abbey, a beautiful 17th-century culture center located at the base of the capital’s towering cliff walls.
