The University of Luxembourg was proud to host the awards ceremony for the 2019 European Solar Prize, which is awarded to municipalities, companies, organisations, and individuals who actively promote renewable energy with projects and initiatives.
The prizes were given on November 15, 2019 by the European Association for Renewable Energy, EUROSOLAR. In total, nominees in eight categories and representing six countries won awards. Among the winners were the German firm Industrial Solar, recognised for its innovative solar steam generation used in industrial heating and cooling, and Schoonschip, a sustainable floating neighbourhood in Amsterdam that promotes the shared use of renewable resources.
