The Association of European Cancer Leagues held their Annual Meeting in Luxembourg on November 26-29, 2019.
The four-day event was hosted by the Fondation Cancer and took place at various locations including Alvisse Parc Hotel, set among a lush green forest, and the Philharmonie, the iconic modernist concert and events venue located in Kirchberg. Included in the event was a patient support working group, a CEO roundtable, the annual ECL conference, and the ECL general assembly. The topics presented in the conference were wide-ranging and ran the gamut of the latest developments in cancer research and care. Among them were those related to treatment, like ‘How the Transformation of Images in "0" and "1" Improves Patient Care and Pathologists’ Life’, to those related to post-treatment care such as ‘Back to Work after Cancer: the Importance of Psycho-Oncological Support,’ as well as those related to prevention and screening like ‘How Vaccinations and HPV Tests Impact Cervical Cancer Burden’.
