There is perhaps no venue in Luxembourg whose façade is at once both striking and calming – and iconic – as the Philharmonie in Kirchberg, perched among European institutions a short distance from the city centre.
The Philharmonie is as suitable for monumental symphonies and experimental concerts as for professional events.
Designed by renowned architect Christian de Portzamparc, the exterior comprises 823 elegant white columns. Meanwhile, the interior holds the Grand Auditorium, a concert hall that can accommodate up to 1,472 people, as well as a smaller but equally impressive music hall that can hold around 300. Events may also be held in the 2,700-square-metre Grand Foyer or a smaller one that offers a stunning view of the city.
