LCB thrilled Luxembourg chosen to host 2023 AIPC conference

AIPC, one the oldest and most important global associations of convention centres, has selected Luxembourg as the location for its 2023 annual conference, which will take place from 16-19 July 2023 at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) in Kirchberg.

The announcement is being cheered by the Luxembourg Convention Bureau (LCB). Over the past few years, its motivated team has been working hard to promote the country as an ideal destination for business events.

CEO François Lafont says that the announcement gives the country a chance to showcase itself and its many stellar qualities, ranging from high-quality infrastructure, an open and multilingual population, to its concentration of thought leaders from the realms of research, technology, and business.

“This goes to show that Luxembourg has made great strides toward developing itself and its business meetings sector,” he said. “We’re eager to show off all the country has to offer.”

For those familiar with organising large meetings, the ECCL is an ideal venue, not only for its location just a short distance from the city centre and hotels, cultural sites, and dining options, but also for the quality of its facilities.

Patrick Hoffnung, CEO of the ECCL, says that because the venue is reserved three months of the year for the European Council of Ministers, it’s fully equipped and has everything congress organisers might need.

“When you come here, you have a ready-to-meet concept,” he said in a conversation with AIPC CEO Sven Bossu. “You can come here, and you have all the services, and everything is included.”

Event organisers find that everything at the ECCL is at their disposal and is already set up, including plenty of meeting rooms, audio-visual equipment, screens, and even dozens of translation booths. In addition, the venue itself has now been classified as a “green” building, a transformation which started years ago.

Of course, in light of the pandemic, the ECCL has been revamped with the latest features to ensure social distancing and safety, and it’s got all the necessary equipment to host in-person, hybrid, or completely virtual events.

Although the venue is within walking distance of many important sites, visitors to the AIPC conference will be able to take Luxembourg City’s new tram, which has a stop just in front of the ECCL. The tram, along with all public transport across the country, has been free since 2020.

“There is really so much that the Grand Duchy has to offer, and we can’t wait for everyone at the AIPC Annual Conference 2023 to enjoy the country and go home happy – and with plenty of good memories to talk about,” Mr Lafont said.
