The year 2019 saw the fifth annual Luxembourg Art Week, a popular contemporary art exhibition to showcase the best art from 67 galleries, some local but others from neighbouring countries.
The three-day event, which took place from November 8-10, gives exposure not only to established artists but also those who are young or emerging. The main event was held at Hall Victor Hugo in the Limpertsberg neighbourhood, while a variety of related art events took place around the city. The main section presented regional and international galleries, and TAKE OFF focused on young artists or collectives who present works at affordable prices. Art Week allows both buyers and mere lovers of art to get a sense of what’s going on in the world of contemporary art, and it’s supplemented by dozens of other events such as seminars about everything from the art ecosystem to the basics of investing in art.
