The most important event for those involved in agriculture, forestry, and landscaping in Luxembourg is the Foire Agricole Ettelbruck (Agriculture Fair Ettelbruck), which has been held in the town every year since 1983.
The 2019 edition took place from July 5-7, and it was a meeting place for everyone in the sector including farmers, horticulturists, researchers, and industry players. Special emphasis was placed on Ardennes draught horses, one of the oldest breeds of draught horses in the world. Events highlighting the breed included a carriage procession, competition, and a show. As with every year, members of the public were welcomed to attend, and organisers provided plenty of opportunities for children to explore the world of agriculture and learn how to farm. Hundreds of exhibitors were present, among them breeders’ associations, farming clubs, local producers, machinery suppliers, and important figures from Luxembourg agriculture. More than 30,000 people participated in the three days of fun and learning.
